The demo included running around a fantasy castle and a graveyard, a few elated moments at finding a bonfire checkpoint near-death, and, of course, a never-ending stream of failed attempts at a boss fight that at points had me wanting to storm out.

This all probably doesn’t sound too appealing, but they have an unusual consistency that ends up pulling you back like a rubber band welded to your forehead. There’s always a way through, you just haven’t found it yet: that is the Dark Souls taunt.
WHAT’S NEW IN DARK SOULS 3?
Dark Souls 3 sees Hidetaka Miyazaki return to the position of game director. He was the figurehead of Dark Souls, but stepped away from the sequel in order to concentrate on Bloodborne.This game takes elements from both series, but what is immediately apparent is the visual upgrade. Dark Souls 3 sheds the soft, murky overlay seen in previous Souls games.

What’s more specific to Dark Souls 3 as a game of its series is something Miyazaki calls weapon “skills”. “Each weapon in this game features the “skills” mechanic,” he says. These are what give class-specific play styles a bit more depth than they had in Dark Souls 2.
